Dust on the ceiling fan blades. Toothpaste spots on the bathroom mirror. Crumbs under the kitchen table and a week of fingerprints on the light switches. None of it is a big job, and all of it comes back. Recurring house cleaning is the visit that deals with it on a schedule, before it adds up.
This page covers our recurring house cleaning in Ocala, Florida: what a standard visit covers in each room, how the first visit differs from the ones after it, how the schedule and the price work, how to get the house ready, how keys, codes and pets are handled, and what a regular visit leaves out. It also shows how to tell whether a home should start with a deep clean. The lists, prices and rules are the ones we publish for our own service, and the few outside facts are named where they are used.
We are Palma Cleaning, and we clean homes in Ocala and the parts of Marion County around it. Google lists us as a House cleaning service, and our profile there showed a rating of 4.9 from 52 reviews when it was read on October 3, 2026. Our about page says more about who we are, and our cleaning service Ocala page sets every clean we offer side by side.
Recurring house cleaning at a glance
Every recurring visit is a standard cleaning of the bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen and living areas, done from one published checklist. Most Ocala homes take 1.5 to 3 hours. You choose weekly, every two weeks or monthly. The first visit of a new plan is charged at the full one-time price, and the visits after it cost less. We bring the products and equipment, you do not need to be home, and after any visit you have 48 hours to ask for a re-clean at no charge.
Call us with your bedrooms, bathrooms and rough square footage. We will quote a recurring visit and suggest a schedule.
What a standard visit covers, room by room
Every recurring visit is a standard cleaning, and every standard cleaning follows the same list. We publish it on our standard cleaning page, and it is set out here room by room. Read the verbs closely. On this list a surface is dusted, wiped, scrubbed or disinfected, and each word is a different amount of work.

Where a standard visit stops
The clearest way to see the edge of a standard visit is to take one surface at a time. On most of these a regular visit does the lighter job, and the heavier job is an add-on you can ask for.
| Surface | On every standard visit | As an add-on |
|---|---|---|
| Baseboards | Dusted | Washed by hand |
| Tub and shower | Tiles wiped clean | Shower and bathtub scrubbed |
| Oven | Outside cleaned with the other appliances | Interior degreased and cleaned |
| Refrigerator | Outside cleaned with the other appliances | Inside scrubbed and wiped |
| Cabinets, drawers, pantry and closets | Cabinet fronts wiped | Insides wiped |
| Furniture | Dusted | Wiped down or vacuumed |
| Windows | Sills dusted | Windows and blinds cleaned |
| Air vents and return | Not on the standard list | Outside vacuumed |
| Microwave | Wiped inside and out | Nothing to add |
Our pricing page lists the inside of the oven, the inside of the refrigerator and the inside of the cabinets at $50 each, and hand-wiped baseboards at $40. Name any add-on when you call, so that it is written into the quote for that visit.
How the first visit differs from the ones after it
The checklist is the same on the first visit and the fiftieth. Three other things change after visit one: the price, the time it takes and how well we know the house.
| What changes | First visit | Visits after it |
|---|---|---|
| Price | The full price of a one-time standard cleaning | Discounted, at the per-visit price on your quote |
| Time on site | Usually the longest visit of the plan | Usually faster, because the home stays maintained between visits |
| What we know | What you told us on the call: rooms to skip, products, pets and the way in | The house itself, when the same team returns |
The price of the first visit
Our pricing page states the rule: the first visit of a new plan is charged at the full price, and every visit after it gets the recurring discount. So the first charge matches the one-time price for your home and the second is lower. Ask for both figures when we quote, so that neither is a surprise.
The time it takes
Recurring visits usually go faster than the first one, because a home that is cleaned on a schedule stays maintained between visits. The 1.5 to 3 hours we publish covers most Ocala homes. Expect the first visit to be the slowest of the series, and ask us how long we expect to be if you need to plan the day around it.
Who comes back
We do our best to send the same team to a recurring home, because a team that knows the house does not need things explained twice. Our terms are plain that this is an aim and not a promise: staffing, time off, training and scheduling can mean a different member of our team comes on a given day. Whoever comes works from the same checklist, and messages you on arrival and again when the visit is finished.
One more difference applies only to some homes. A house that has gone a long time without a full clean may need a different first visit altogether, and the section on deep cleans further down this page shows how to tell.
House cleaning in Ocala on a schedule: weekly, every two weeks or monthly
The right schedule depends on how fast a home comes undone after a clean. These are the three we offer and who we suggest each one for.
- Weekly. For homes with kids, pets, allergy sufferers or heavy daily traffic, where two weeks is long enough for dust and pet hair to build back up. A weekly plan is set for the same day and time each week. It also carries our lowest per-visit rate, because a home cleaned every week takes the least time to maintain.
- Every two weeks. For couples, small families and any home that stays fairly tidy between visits. It is the schedule most of our Marion County clients choose.
- Monthly. For smaller or low-traffic homes, people living alone, empty nesters and part-time residents. It also works as a supplement to your own cleaning.
Most Ocala households are small. In the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey estimates for 2020 to 2024, as published by Census Reporter, just over a third of the city’s households are one person living alone, about 69 percent hold one or two people, and the average household is 2.34 people. By the guide above, that is a lot of homes where every two weeks or monthly is the place to start, with weekly for the full family house.
We recommend a schedule when we quote. If you are torn between two, tell us how the house looks a week after a thorough clean, and that usually settles it.
Skipping, pausing and moving a visit
Our weekly service comes without a contract. Tell us, and a visit can be skipped, rescheduled or paused.
One rule in our terms applies to every booking on every schedule. We need at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a visit, and a visit cancelled with less notice, including on the day itself, is charged 50 percent of the booking. The reason is the slot: we hold that time for your home and turn other work away, so a late cancellation leaves a gap we cannot fill.
Storms and emergencies
The notice rule has a counterpart on our side. Our terms let us reschedule a visit for severe weather or an emergency, and commit us to contacting you as soon as possible to arrange another time. In Florida that clause is worth knowing about. The National Hurricane Center gives the Atlantic hurricane season as June 1 to November 30, which is half the calendar. If we have to move your visit for a storm, the new time is arranged with you.
How soon a plan can start
Most clients can book within two to three business days. A same-day first visit depends on availability, so call as early in the day as you can.
Call us, tell us how the home is used, and we will suggest weekly, every two weeks or monthly and quote it.
How the price of a recurring visit is worked out
We publish our rates. A recurring price starts from the same formula as a one-time standard cleaning, and these are its parts, with the 2026 figures from our pricing page.
| Part of the price | Published rate |
|---|---|
| Bedrooms, which set the base | $150 for one bedroom, $175 for two, $200 for three, $225 for four, $275 for five and $325 for six |
| Full bathrooms | $25 each |
| Half-baths | $15 each |
| Size of the home | No surcharge under 1,500 square feet. $25 for 1,500 to 1,999 square feet, rising in steps above that. A home of 4,000 square feet or more is priced after a free walkthrough in person |
| Pets in the home | $25, which covers extra pet-hair vacuuming |
| Condition | No charge for a home cleaned within about the last three months. $90 for a home in need of a reset, $180 for a heavy-duty clean and $500 for the most severe tier |
Those parts add up to the price of a one-time standard cleaning, which is also what the first visit of a plan costs. The pricing page works one through: a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home of 1,800 square feet comes to $200 for the base, $50 for the bathrooms and $25 for the size, which makes $275.
From the second visit the price drops. Recurring service costs less per visit than a one-time clean, and weekly is the lowest per-visit rate of the three schedules. We do not print a discount figure on this page. Ask us for two numbers when we quote, the first visit and each visit after it, because the price on your quote is always the one that counts.
Three more points on price. Our terms allow us to adjust the price of a recurring service with reasonable notice, so a rate is not fixed for all time. Our standard cleaning page gives a general range: house cleaning in Ocala typically runs from $120 to $300, depending on home size and condition. And travel is included for the majority of visits inside our Marion County area.
No sales tax is added to a recurring visit, because the Florida Department of Revenue says charges for cleaning residential facilities are not taxable. Quotes are free.
Getting the house ready before each visit
A regular visit is a few hours long, so every pile we have to work around is time taken from the floors and the bathrooms. We are happy to straighten as we go, and basic organizing is on the checklist for bedrooms and living areas. But our terms say we are there to clean, not to sort or relocate belongings. Because the visit repeats, it pays to turn the preparation into a routine, and this is the one we suggest.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| Once, before the first visit | Tell us which rooms to skip, which products you want used or avoided, and what pets are in the home. Agree the way in: a key, a garage code, a lockbox or someone at home. |
| The evening before each visit | Clear beds, floors and countertops. Put away loose clothing, toys and personal items. Clear dining tables and nightstands. Put valuables and anything fragile out of reach. |
| On the day | Secure pets in a safe area. Check that the water and electricity are on. Make sure the key, code or lockbox is where we expect it. |
| At least 48 hours ahead, if something is wrong | Tell us if clutter or the utilities will be a problem, and we will reschedule with no penalty. |
What our terms count as excessive clutter
Belongings piled on beds, floors, countertops or other surfaces in a way that prevents reasonable access for cleaning. If we arrive and cannot clean effectively because of it, or because the water or electricity is off, our terms charge 50 percent of the scheduled booking. A few things left on a counter is not that: we straighten as we go.
Products and allergies
We bring professional-grade products, microfiber cloths, vacuums and mops, so there is nothing for you to buy or set out. If someone in the home has an allergy or a sensitivity, leave your own products out for us or ask for eco-friendly ones when you book.
Keys, codes, pets and being home
You do not need to be home for a recurring visit. Most of our clients are at work or out for the day, and give us a key, a garage code, a door code or a lockbox.
Keys and codes
Under our terms, giving us a key or an access code authorizes us to enter the home for the visits you have scheduled, and we handle access information securely. We message you when we arrive and again when we finish, so you know when we were in the house.
Test the way in before the first visit, and tell us whenever it changes: a new garage code, a changed lock, a lockbox moved to another door. Our terms allow a charge when we arrive on time and cannot get in for a reason within your control.
If you are home
Stay if you prefer. We offer a walkthrough at the end of the visit, and it is the best moment to point out anything missed, because we can put it right while we are still there.
Pets
Our terms ask that pets are secured in a safe area, apart from the rooms we are working in, for their safety and for the team’s. If a pet is shy, anxious or reactive, tell us ahead of the visit, and we will keep doors closed or keep the animal in one room while we work.
Two pet points affect the quote and the visit. Our pricing page adds $25 for a home with pets, which covers extra pet-hair vacuuming. And we do not clean up pet accidents, litter boxes or other animal waste, so see to those before we arrive.
Valuables
Put jewelry, cash and other valuables away before each visit. Our terms say we are not responsible for items left in accessible areas, so a drawer, or a room you have asked us to skip, is the right place for them.
What a regular visit does not include
A standard visit is maintenance. Three groups of work sit outside it.
- The add-ons. The right-hand column of the table near the top of this page: the inside of the oven, the inside of the refrigerator, the insides of cabinets, drawers, pantry and closets, baseboards washed by hand, a full scrub of the shower and bathtub, furniture wiped down or vacuumed, and windows and blinds. Each can be added to a visit when you ask.
- Walls, lanai and patio. Our checklist page marks wall washing as an add-on for every type of clean. Our pricing page lists spot-cleaned walls and a lanai or patio at $50 each.
- Work we do not take on. We do not wash dishes, clean up animal waste, deal with biohazards such as blood or bodily fluids, or take on heavy decluttering.
A home being emptied at the end of a lease or a sale is a different job again, with the insides of the appliances and cabinets included, and it has its own page: move out cleaning Ocala.
How to tell whether the home needs a deep clean first
A standard visit keeps a clean home clean. It is not built to bring a home back from a long gap. When a home has not been cleaned in a while, we recommend a deep clean first to reset it, then standard visits to keep it that way, and that is the most cost-effective path for a home that needs extra attention on the first visit. What the longer visit adds is listed on our deep cleaning Ocala page.
Three questions sort most homes. Answer them honestly on the call, because the condition of the home is part of the price and decides how much time we set aside.
| Question | A standard first visit is likely enough | Ask us about a deep clean first |
|---|---|---|
| When was the home last cleaned from top to bottom? | Within about the last three months. Our pricing page adds no condition charge in that range | Three months ago or more. The pricing page treats that as a home in need of a reset, and the condition charge steps up again at six months and at a year |
| What does a wipe do in the shower and tub? | A wipe leaves the tile clean | Film stays on the tile or glass after a wipe, which is a job for a scrub |
| How many add-ons would you want on the first visit? | None, or one or two | Most of the list at once, such as the oven, the baseboards and the shower and tub |
If your answers sit in the right-hand column, the usual path is one deep clean and then the recurring plan. Many of our clients start that way. If they sit in the left-hand column, start with a standard visit. If they are split, describe what you see and we will recommend one or the other when we quote.
The 48 hours after every visit
You have 48 hours from the end of each visit to tell us if something on the checklist was not done to standard, and we come back and re-clean those areas at no charge. Our terms attach two conditions: the request has to relate to the job that was booked, and the home has to be in much the same state as we left it. Damage has a shorter clock. Report it within 24 hours of the visit so that we can assess it.
We run recurring visits across Ocala and the nearby parts of Marion County. The neighborhoods and ZIP codes we name are listed on our maid service Ocala home page, and if your address is close to one of them, ask.

Questions people ask
What does a recurring house cleaning visit include?
Every recurring visit is a standard cleaning from our published checklist. In the bathrooms that means sinks, toilets, tub and shower tiles, fixtures, countertops, mirrors and the floor. In the bedrooms, beds are made and furniture is dusted. In the kitchen, countertops, the backsplash, the sink and the appliance exteriors are cleaned, and the microwave is wiped inside and out. Living areas, hallways and stairs are dusted and their floors done. Trash is emptied throughout.
How is the first visit different from the visits after it?
In price and in time. The first visit of a new plan is charged at the full price of a one-time standard cleaning, and the visits after it are discounted. It is also usually the longest visit, because later ones go faster once the home is being maintained. The checklist is the same on every visit.
Does recurring house cleaning cost less than a one-time clean?
Yes, from the second visit. Recurring service costs less per visit than a one-time clean, and weekly is our lowest per-visit rate. The first visit of a plan is charged at the full price, so ask us for both figures when we quote. Our terms also allow the price of a recurring service to be adjusted with reasonable notice.
Is weekly cleaning worth it over every two weeks?
Weekly makes sense for homes with kids, pets, allergy sufferers or heavy daily traffic, where two weeks is long enough for dust and pet hair to build back up. If the home stays fairly tidy between visits, every two weeks is usually the better value, and it is what most of our Marion County clients choose.
Can I skip, pause or move a recurring visit?
Our weekly service has no contract, and a visit can be skipped, rescheduled or paused when you tell us. On any schedule, give us at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or move a visit. With less notice, including on the day, our terms charge 50 percent of the booking, because the slot was held for your home.
Do the same cleaners come on every visit?
That is the aim. We do our best to send the same team to a recurring home, because consistency lets them learn the house and your preferences. Our terms do not promise it for every visit: staffing, time off, training or scheduling can mean another member of our team comes. Whoever comes works from the same checklist.
Should my first visit be a deep clean or a standard visit?
It depends on the gap and the build-up. If the home was cleaned thoroughly within about the last three months and a wipe still leaves the shower clean, a standard first visit is likely enough. If it has been longer, or you would want most of the add-ons at once, we recommend a deep clean first and standard visits after it. Describe the home when you call and we will recommend one.
Do you clean inside the oven or the refrigerator on a regular visit?
Not unless you ask. On a standard visit the appliance exteriors are cleaned and the microwave is wiped inside and out. The inside of the oven and the inside of the refrigerator are add-ons, listed on our pricing page at $50 each, and so is the inside of the cabinets. Name them when you call so they are on the quote.
What if the house is not tidy when you arrive?
We straighten as we go, and basic organizing is on the checklist for bedrooms and living areas. Excessive clutter is different: if belongings are piled on beds, floors or countertops so that we cannot clean effectively, our terms charge 50 percent of the booking. If you can see it coming, tell us at least 48 hours ahead and we will reschedule with no penalty.
How do keys and door codes work on a recurring plan?
Most recurring clients are out when we clean and give us a key, a garage code, a door code or a lockbox. Under our terms that authorizes us to enter for your scheduled visits, and we handle access information securely. We message you when we arrive and when we finish. Tell us if a code or a lock changes, because our terms allow a charge when we cannot get in for a reason within your control.
What happens to my visit if a storm is coming?
Our terms let us reschedule a visit for severe weather or an emergency, and we contact you as soon as possible to arrange another time. The National Hurricane Center gives the Atlantic hurricane season as June 1 to November 30. If you need to move a visit yourself, the usual 48 hours’ notice applies.
What do you not do on a regular visit?
We do not wash dishes, clean up pet accidents, litter boxes or other animal waste, deal with biohazards or take on heavy decluttering. The insides of the oven, refrigerator and cabinets, hand-washed baseboards and a full scrub of the shower and bathtub are add-ons on a standard visit, so ask for them by name.
